A little late night note

I love this blog. I've never fully left it although I haven't posted here since May of 2010. I still come back and visit often. I think that this space is where my more now, permanent space began cultivating.

My eyes grow heavy with exhaustion. I spent most of the day relaxing and the other half sleeping. I didn't wake up until 1:30 - that is the latest I've slept in months. It felt good. I let the guilt around taking the day off float away.

I was beyond ecstatic to receive several emails today on new webdesign requests. Looking forward to getting back to them tomorrow. Webdesign allows my creativity to flow more freely.

30 Days of Self Love

A few weeks ago, while in my favorite book store, I picked up a novel by Louise L. Hay entitled “You Can Heal Your Life.” This book had been flowing in conversations surrounding me for quite sometime. I found it only necessary to purchase it.

The conversation of the book thus far has revolved around our thoughts, where they rooted from, how they affect us and altering them. Not too long when I was in Scottsdale Arizona visiting Kristen and her mom, Ellen- I was left with a quote that was instilled in my mind, “Faith is better than belief, because belief was someone else’s idea.”

It is rather absurd the way we live our lives, acting as though certain things are “just the way they are.” But the only reason they are that way in the first place is because that is what YOU choose to believe. Louise Hay’s believes that all “problems” route back to lack of self-love; no matter the topic. The two things that keep coming up for me during my reading of this book are my weight and money. Given, my conversation about health and money has shifted quite a bit over the last year. I have an abundance of money flowing too and from me (but could still use more, who couldn’t?!) And I have shed 10 lbs. over the last year- but that’s not good enough for me.

As Hay’s says, “you’ve tried everything else your whole life and it hasn’t worked. So why not try self-love and watch it wow you.” She was right, what do I have to lose?

Being as it may that I am some-what addicted to the internet and all of my viewers out there- I decided to take this public. The exercise I am about to introduce to you was inspired not only by Hay, but also by my dear friend at Soul-mate Experience. Although their exercise (released in their soon to be published book) was not verbatim of mine, our message is all the same- love the self and anything is possible.

Over the next 30 days I am going to honor, love and cherish my body, mind and soul. I have written out on my calendar a different body part for each day ranging from my hair and nails to my yoni and thighs; no part will go unnoticed and each part will get my full devotion that day. My month long journey will be documented here, for you all to see.

Although I am not attached to results and don’t doubt that this exercise will feed my soul, I do hope to come out lighter, happier and fitting into those jeans I miss oh-so-much.  Wish me luck!

My little sister, Sara put these on my window before I headed out. I love you too, Sara.

As I got deeper and deeper into the desert I approached many "sleeping giants." Or at least that is what they looked like to me. The way the wind had made grooves in the sides of the mounds allowed them to appear as feet and legs in my mind.

This drive was gorgeous. There are many things I have not seen or experienced in this life time. Lots of it is just being in the beauty of nature and God's creations. On my drive I got to see The Guadalupe Mountains- truly breathtaking. The colors, shapes, size and shadows. It was all incredible. The pictures really don't do it justice.

Jack wasn't really sure what to think.

By the end of the drive, I was never happier to see actual cars and city lights.

Uprooting

Last week I was re-potting one of my plants.
This plant was given to me as house warming gift.
At that time, I thought I was certain with my life.

As I looked at the raw, uncovered, fresh roots
of my favorite pant
I couldn't help but notice how
my life at the moment
was very similar to the plant in my hands.

I have uprooted myself.
My tentacles are raw and fresh,
I feel as though parts of me
are severed, hurt, and lost.

As I surround the fresh roots
with new soil, nutrients and fresh water
I felt as though the leaves were renewed.

I too will be renewed, with time,
love, patience and faith.

The other day I hung out with Dustin.
We go way back.

We had dinner at Cafe Brazil.
There was delicious Tortilla Soup.
And good conversation.

We took a short walk across the street.

(yes they do exist.)

We stopped and had a cup of joe @ Buli.

I indulged in some tasty hot chocolate.

I couldn't resist diving into a good romance novel.

Lacy and I went back to her house.
We checked out some craft sites,
looked at fashion magazines

I commented on her negligence.

Adored her pup, Miss Koda Koda

and watched over Lacy
as she began to craft.

Lacy decided to spruce up her mount.

Last Wednesday
I hung out with Lacy.
I was feeling

We went to Dolly Pythons.

Next we went to Dot.
Where found lots of cool things.
Including this painting.

And this poster art.

Dot's Closet is actually
a thrift/consignment store
that receives frequent donations
from Urban Outfitters
and The Gap.
The proceeds go to help
terminally ill patients
pay for medical care,
medications,
and food.
So Lacy Didn't mind that
she spent $60.00

Luckily I
talked her out of
that sweater.
They had fabulous scarves
ranging from $2-$5

And an endless supply
of fashionably tacky
Sweaters.
I highly recommend going to Dots.
